OP Chernobyl Bandits

Bandits

The Zone's ruthless hunters.

If you join them, you choose a life without rules – only strength, loyalty to the gang, and your own advantage matter. Ambushes, raids, and quick deals define your daily life. In the Zone, nothing is given to you – you take it.

Live without rules - Join the Bandits

Bandits embody the lawless, criminal core of the Zone. Here you'll find no ideals, no order, and no false morals – only survival, power, and profit. Many of them were once free stalkers who went their own way until they ultimately chose the dark side of the Zone.

Perhaps you too are someone fleeing your past. Perhaps you are simply attracted to the freedom of living without rules. Among the bandits gather thieves, smugglers, swindlers, and murderers – people who have learned that scruples in the Zone only mean weakness.

You don't move alone. Bandits operate in small, well-coordinated groups that roam the Zone like packs. Each gang has its own hierarchy, its own rules, and its own territory. Together, you control important routes, establish camps, and secure access to valuable resources.

Your daily life consists of raids, extortion, and ambushes. You observe your targets from the shadows, wait for the right moment, and then strike quickly and mercilessly. Inexperienced stalkers, in particular, become easy prey for you – but other factions are never safe either.

The Zone itself is your ally. You know its paths, its hiding places, and its dangers. You use the rugged terrain to move silently, scout out your opponents, and lure them into deadly traps. Those who are careless don't live long.

Mercy is a foreign word to you. Trust is rare – and often short-lived. But that's exactly what life as a bandit is all about: you take what you want, when you want it.

If you choose this path, you should be sure:

There are many dangers in the Zone – but to others, you are one of the greatest.

Prologue

It'll soon be over... The clock shows just before 12, the curtain opens. The audience waits with stone-faced expressions behind a glass pane. I lie on a silver table, my body and tattooed arms secured with leather straps. On a tray beside me is a syringe with a green liquid. A man in a black suit begins his speech. "Boris Sukow, you have been found guilty by a court and sentenced by a judge of this state for multiple murders, aggravated robbery, theft, extortion, illegal parking..." – if this continues, we won't be finished until tomorrow morning – "...to death by lethal injection. Do you have anything to say before the execution of the sentence?" I turn my head to the man in the black suit and whisper in his ear: "It'll soon be over..." ... Suddenly it goes dark and a murmur goes through the crowd. Seconds later, an alarm sounds and the red emergency lighting comes on. I stand behind the man and hold the syringe to his neck. Slowly I push down the plunger and let the twitching body slide to the floor. At the same moment, shots are fired and Jamal and Ivan storm into the hall. The crowd screams in panic and flees in all directions. Jamal throws me a guard's pistol and asks: "Where to, Boss, once we're out of here?" I murmur to myself, "Chernobyl! The only place they won't look for us... and then it really begins...!"

Bandits

Dress code

Bandit clothing should be relatively civilian, just like with the stalkers. Tactical equipment such as that used by the military is not permitted, meaning no plate carriers. Molle systems, for example on belts/battle belts, are generally allowed but should be kept to a minimum.

  • Color scheme: various shades of black and brown
  • Dress code requirement: Red neckerchief
  • Note: The dress code guidelines for bandits are a kind of guide. Small deviations are allowed if the outfit is coherent.
  • The rule of thumb here is: Don't look like a soldier!

Armament

The bandits' weapons are kept relatively simple. In principle, all models are permitted. However, the focus should be on Eastern Bloc weapons (all AK variants, SVD, etc.).

Leader Boris

After the former bandit boss met an unexpected end by being bludgeoned to death, Boris seized his position. Boris has been lurking in the Zone for quite some time, conducting his business.

Not much is known about his personal background. All that is certain is that he was with the Spetsnaz and was dishonorably discharged after four years. Shortly thereafter, he appeared in the Zone, where he made himself very unpopular with all present factions, except for the bandits. Therefore, no bandit should ever expect to be welcomed with open arms in the Zone as long as he leads them.

For some time now, Boris has been accompanied by two bandits who, in the broadest sense, could be described as his friends. However, as some malicious tongues claim, it's more due to the fact that he hasn't bludgeoned them to death yet. Boris frequently resorts to violence and enjoys punishing with immediate, slow execution. He can only be put in a good mood with plenty of money, weapons, ammunition, and explosives. Drugs are merely a means to an end for him. Those who dare can pick up assignments from Boris. Accomplishments are richly rewarded; failure makes him angry.

Boris is about forty-five years old and has been in the Zone for 10 years.

Epilogue

Commander Mikhail Kulik eyed Michael Hammerbeck's arrival at the customs house with suspicion. As agreed, he also had only five armed men with him, in addition to his bodyguard Maverizski. During their last encounter, the leader of Liberty had tried to ambush him with a Ural. But who could blame Hammerbeck for deserting a few months ago? Captain Morozov was a sadist, and essentially, Mikhail Kulik himself was glad that Hammerbeck had eliminated him back then. Anyway, it was the first attempt between the military and Liberty to find an amicable solution for the experimental weapon. Who knew if and how it even worked? Suddenly, the customs house door swung open, and a bearded scientist in an orange protective suit stepped out. "Well, well, there you are. And do you have the parts with you?" Hammerbeck motioned for Abu Nossi, who was carrying a wooden box under his arm, to come closer. Mikhail Kulik nodded briefly, and Vasili stepped forward with a silver briefcase. "Well, well," chuckled the scientist, "So you want me to assemble the device for you? Alright, I'll do it – but no weapons in my lab, they make me nervous!" Abu Nossi and Vasili handed their weapons to their comrades and disappeared into the building. Silence… Mikhail Kulik's and Hammerbeck's men cautiously observed their surroundings… watching for any suspicious movement. Suddenly, screeching tires behind the customs house!!! Mikhail Kulik and Hammerbeck rushed into the building. In one room, Abu Nossi and Vasili lay unconscious on the floor, with lacerations on the back of their heads. Next to them were an empty box and an empty briefcase. "What the hell…" Kulik hissed, "I should have known you can't trust a deserter. Once a traitor, always a traitor!" Hammerbeck pushed Kulik in the chest. "How dare you! You took the weapon to use it for yourself! I'm done with you!" He called for his right-hand man, Martini, who shouldered the unconscious Abu Nossi. Together, they left the room. Kulik, face flushed red, shouted after him: "Hammerbeck! I'll flatten your shabby camp and hunt down every single one of your men. I'll turn over every stone and shoot at anything that isn't wearing my uniform until I have the weapon in my hands!!!" Meanwhile, at a secret location. An unknown person entered the room. In the center stood a silver table, shimmering mysteriously in the subdued light. Strange symbols adorned the walls, undefinable rune-covered objects were scattered on the floor. A man in a black coat stepped out of the shadows, his face hidden under a hood. "Do you have what I demanded?" The unknown person opened a bag and placed various weapon parts on the table. "Here. That's all we could take from them." The man in the coat mumbled to himself. "Very good, but something is still missing. Listen carefully, I have another task for you…"
