Chernobyl Military Operation

Military

The military is the iron hand of the government in the Zone.

If you join them, you stand for order, control, and uncompromising enforcement. Your mission is clear: contain, secure, and eliminate – no questions asked.

Control at any cost - Join the military

The military operates under the direct command of the government and pursues a clear objective: to bring the Zone under control and prevent any unauthorized access. For you, this means representing one of the most powerful and, at the same time, most feared forces within the Zone.

You are part of a well-equipped, structured unit. Unlike stalkers or bandits, you do not rely on improvisation, but on clear orders, military discipline, and superior equipment. Modern weapons, tactical gear, and coordinated operations make you a formidable opponent in open combat.

Your mission is clear: You maintain the blockade. No one is to enter the Zone unchecked – and more importantly, nothing is to leave it. Artifacts, samples, and all anomalies are under the complete control of the military. Anyone who attempts to break these rules becomes a threat.

You patrol the Zone with your unit, secure strategically important points, and control passages. Encounters with other factions are rarely peaceful. For you, stalkers, bandits, and many others are nothing more than intruders – and you treat them accordingly. Hesitation can cost you or your comrades their lives.

However, behind the facade of discipline and order, another reality emerges. The Zone is far from any real control. Long deployment times, lack of oversight, and the feeling of having been cast off by the government leave their mark. Corruption is not uncommon – clandestine deals, smuggled artifacts, and personal gain are part of daily life for some.

Perhaps you are here to fulfill your duty. Perhaps you seek power, influence, or simply your own advantage within the structures. In the Zone, the lines between duty and self-interest blur faster than you might like.

Despite a massive presence, the military never fully succeeds in sealing off the Zone. Too many loopholes, too many corrupt soldiers, and too many forces operating in the background. This is precisely what makes your mission all the more important – and dangerous.

If you choose this path, you know:
You are not just a soldier – you are the control in a world that refuses to be controlled.

Prologue

"Commander! Commander!"

Field Marshal Vasily salutes crisply and clicks his heels. "An Antonov has dropped a supply crate with provisions and ammunition over the zone!"

Commander Mikhail Kulik raises an eyebrow. For months, this was the government's first delivery since a no-go zone was established around Chernobyl.

Three years ago, Commander Mikhail Kulik refused an attack on a civilian settlement on direct orders from General Romanov. With the words: "I'll make sure no one remembers you anymore!" the ambitious commander was reassigned to Chernobyl as punishment. The order since then was to secure the area around Chernobyl and execute every intruder. At first, individual adventurers looking for quick money got lost, but in recent weeks, contacts have become more frequent.

"Captain, does the delivery contain new orders from the supreme commander?"

Vasily pulls an envelope from his breast pocket and hands it to Commander Mikhail Kulik.

The Commander's face darkens line by line… "...no one may enter or leave Chernobyl... secure the zone at all costs... your service will be extended for another five years... do not attempt to leave Chernobyl or contact us... further orders to follow... signed: General Romanov"

"Vasily, prepare the company. We have a lot of work ahead of us." Mikhail Kulik pulls a sketch from a drawer and examines the experimental weapon depicted. "Here in Chernobyl, my friend, much more has happened in the past than you think. The reactor disaster was actually caused by a failed weapons experiment. A new technology has been forgotten, but it exists somewhere here in Chernobyl. And we will find it!!!"

Armament

The military prefers Eastern Bloc weapons.

Military train structure

Military players will be divided into different platoons during the event and will receive their orders collectively from their respective leaders.

When purchasing your ticket, you can pre-select which unit you would prefer to be assigned to. This helps us with planning in advance.

However, the final assignment will only take place directly at the event. A change there is still possible, depending on the situation.

General Features (Alpha - Hotel)

The general platoons of the military are versatile and dynamic units that take on a wide range of tasks in the Zone. From patrols in the exclusion zone, special missions deep within Chernobyl, to escorts and rescue operations – the platoons are designed to adapt to challenges and find effective solutions for every situation. Variety is guaranteed, teamwork is the key to success!

Commander Anastasia Romanov

The long-time head of Military Intelligence, Anastasia Romanov, is taking command of the military with immediate effect. She is considered assertive, ambitious, and cunning. Little is known about her past; her service record consists mainly of redacted sections.

Since her transfer to the Zone, Romanov has set about enforcing her orders and coordinating the various military units in the Zone. She proved to be an effective leader who quickly earned respect and obedience from her subordinates with her tough but fair demeanor.

Within the Zone, it is rumored that Romanov succeeded in infiltrating and dismantling a network of organ traffickers in a covert operation.

Persistent rumors also suggest that she played an important role in the creation of a "supersoldier" during a secret mission.

The decision to promote Anastasia Romanov to Commander of the Military at OP Chernobyl came as a surprise to many soldiers on site.

The trigger for this was the suspension of Michal Kulik and his deputy, Gennadi Pushkin. In internal circles, it is said that Comrade Kulik lost his mind due to "radiation sickness."

Romanov is consistently the right choice to tackle the difficult task of securing the exclusion zone near the damaged nuclear power plant, even though questions about her past are mounting. Some claimed she was involved in illegal dealings herself, while others suspected she had achieved her position through bribery and corruption. The truth about her past remains a secret known only to a few. Although celebrated as a hero by members of her unit, the shadow of doubt about her person persists.

Deputy Janus Ramius

Janus Ramius is a veteran who has served in the Zone for many years. When Romanov was promoted to military commander, Janus Ramius was the first to pledge his loyalty to her.

As a member of the military police, he dedicated his life to securing the exclusion zone and keeping the Zone under control. He always kept an eye on the safety of his unit, which earned him great respect within the military.

However, Janus Ramius is said to have been one of the few who participated in a secret experiment designed to awaken
supersoldier-like abilities. As part of this project,
he underwent a series of tests and experiments.

Little is known about the abilities themselves, except that they come at a price. Since then, Janus Ramius has suffered from regular pain and cramps and can only be active for short periods.

Janus fulfills his duty with dedication and selflessness, which is why Commander Romanov promoted him to deputy.

Epilogue

Commander Mikhail Kulik eyes Michael Hammerbeck's arrival at the customs house with suspicion. As agreed, he also brought only five armed men in addition to his bodyguard Maverizski. During their last encounter, the leader of the Freedom group had tried to set a trap for him with a Ural. But who can blame Hammerbeck for deserting a few months ago? Captain Morozov was a sadist, and deep down, Mikhail Kulik himself is glad that Hammerbeck eliminated him back then. Anyway, it's the first attempt between the military and Freedom to find an amicable solution with the experimental weapon. Who knows if and how it even works?

Suddenly, the door of the customs house bursts open and a bearded scientist in an orange hazmat suit steps out. "So, you're here. And do you have the parts with you?"

Hammerbeck waves Abu Nossi over, who is carrying a wooden box under his arm. Mikhail Kulik nods briefly and Vasili steps forward with a silver briefcase.

"Oh, so," the scientist chuckles, "you want me to assemble the device for you? Alright, I'll do it - but no weapons in my lab, they make me nervous!"

Abu Nossi and Vasili hand their weapons to their comrades and disappear into the building. Silence... Mikhail Kulik's and Hammerbeck's men cautiously observe the surroundings... watching for any suspicious movement. Suddenly, screeching tires behind the customs house!!!

Mikhail Kulik and Hammerbeck rush into the building. In one room, Abu Nossi and Vasili lie unconscious on the floor, with lacerations to the back of their heads. Next to them is an empty box and an empty briefcase. "What the hell..." Kulik snarls, "I should have known you can't trust a deserter. Once a traitor, always a traitor!" Hammerbeck shoves Kulik in the chest. "How dare you! You took the weapon to use it for yourself! I'm done with you!" He calls for his right-hand man, Martini, who shoulders the unconscious Abu Nossi. Together, they leave the room.

Kulik, his face flushed with anger, shouts after him: "Hammerbeck! I will flatten your shabby camp and hunt down every single one of your men. I will turn over every stone and shoot at anything that isn't wearing my uniform until I have that weapon in my hands!!!"

Meanwhile, at a secret location.

An unknown person enters the room. In the center is a silver table, mysteriously shimmering in the dim light. Strange symbols are affixed to the walls, indefinable rune-covered objects are scattered on the floor. A man in a black cloak steps out of the shadows, his face hidden under a hood. "Do you have what I demanded?" The unknown person opens a bag and places various weapon parts on the table. "Here. That's all we could take from them." The man in the cloak mumbles to himself. "Very good, but something is still missing. Listen closely, I have another task for you..."
